MELBOURNE — The Victorian government has appointed new toppers to two key film bodies, the final act of a two-year restructuring of the state’s film industry.
Sandra Sdraulig, former director of the Melbourne Intl. Film Festival, has been tapped to run production body Film Victoria, which will control development and investment funding worth $A31.6 million ($16.6 million) over four years. She replaces Julie Marlow, who resigned after Film Victoria was split from former film body Cinemedia last year.
Former Cinemedia CEO John Smithies was tapped CEO of the Australian Center for the Moving Image, the other film culture org that emerged from the Cinemedia split.
