ACE Eddie Awards will be held Feb. 24

The American Cinema Editors tapped box office powerhouses “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,” along with “A Beautiful Mind,” “Black Hawk Down” and “Memento,” as nominees for best edited dramatic feature.

In the best edited comedy or musical category, the org selected “Amelie,” “Gosford Park,” “Monsters, Inc.,” “Moulin Rouge,” “The Royal Tenenbaums” and “Shrek.”

Winners will be announced at the 52nd annual black-tie ACE Eddie Awards Feb. 24 at the Beverly Hilton.

The org also announced 18 noms in half a dozen TV categories, including “Band of Brothers,” “Mists of Avalon” and “Uprising” for miniseries; “Frasier,” “Malcolm in the Middle” and “Sex and the City” for half-hour series; and “61*,” “My Louisiana Sky” and “The Day Reagan Was Shot” for movie for noncommercial TV.

Nominees for one-hour series were “24,” “Alias” and “The Sopranos,” while documentary nods went to “The Endurance: Shackleton’s Legendary Antarctic Expedition,” “Chop Suey” and “New York: A Documentary Film.” Noms for motion picture for commercial TV went to “James Dean,” “Life With Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows” and “The Lost Battalion.”
