Easy, ASA join for film venture

World Brief

Danish production houses Easy Film and ASA Film have launched a joint venture to produce two features per year that will be distributed in Nordic countries by Scanbox Entertainment.

An initial investment of $14 million will kick-start five productions, including “The Recovery,” a thriller by “Nightwatch” director Ole Bornedal, and a historical drama by Jorn Faurschou.

“Danish filmmakers need an alternative to the existing production companies, and audiences need a larger variety of local films,” explained producers Niels Bokkenheuser, of Easy, and Henrik Moller-Sorensen, of ASA.
