Tucker, Cottrell Boyce to commemorate 'November 5th'

MILAN — Director Anand Tucker and writer Frank Cottrell Boyce have signed up to develop “November 5th,” a historical movie about the Gunpowder Plot to blow up the English Houses of Parliament in 1605.

The notorious event is still commemorated every Nov. 5 in Britain, with effigies of the Catholic conspirator Guy Fawkes burned on bonfires all across the country to the accompaniment of fireworks displays. Fawkes and his fellows were attempting to kill the Protestant King James I.

Pic is being developed by producers Luc Roeg and Charles Finch of Artists Independent Network. Cottrell Boyce and Tucker last collaborated on “Hilary and Jackie.”
