Cape Town puts new film school up

World Brief

The U. of Cape Town has established an Institute for Film and New Media.

The institute will phase in programs over five years, starting in 2003 with masters of fine arts courses in film and TV production as well as new media.

The second program focuses on new product development and will complement the master courses.

The third program is actually a production studio that will market products created by staff and students to generate income to help fund the institute.
