HOLLYWOOD — Radar Pictures will finance, develop and produce “Box Office Gross,” a sketch comedy feature set at a multiplex that will parody the moviegoing experience. “Mad TV” veterans Will Sasso and Alex Borstein will star.
The screenplay will be penned in a roundtable forum by writers Tommy Blacha (“Late Night With Conan O’Brien”), Borstein (“Futurama”), Jay Johnston (“Mr. Show”), Eric Kentoff (“The Man Show”), Sasso and Brian Tucker (“Saturday Night Live”).
Dan Angel and Billy Brown (“The X Files”) will produce.
Executive Sean Gorman, who will oversee production along with Monica Mullens, brought the project to Radar.
Radar chairman Ted Field and president Scott Kroopf will exec produce. Focus Intl. will handle foreign sales.
Dimension Films will release Radar’s first title this fall, the psychological thriller “They.” The Radar slate also includes Merchant Ivory’s “Le Divorce,” starring Kate Hudson and Naomi Watts, for Fox Searchlight and “How to Deal,” starring Mandy Moore and Allison Janney, for New Line Cinema.
