Trigger Street bets on the ‘House’

Spacey banner deals with true Vegas tale

Kevin Spacey’s Trigger Street Prods. has come aboard for a movie treatment for the Ben Mezrich book “Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six MIT Students Who Took Vegas for Millions.” The book will be published next month by Free Press.

After discovering the book when he read an excerpt in Wired magazine, Trigger Street’s Dana Brunetti got Spacey’s company involved. True story concerns a group of students who trained in the art of card counting and walked away from Vegas with millions of dollars in winnings. Brunetti and Bernie Morris will produce for Trigger Street.

Spacey’s producing shingle has been busy. It’s in post-production on “The United States of Leland,” starring Ryan Gosling, Don Cheadle and Jena Malone. TSP produced with Great Projects Film Co. the Spacey-narrated docu “America Rebuilds,” which just aired on PBS. Shingle’s docu “Uncle Frank” will air in 2003; it was purchased by HBO after its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. TSP also is producing at Garry Marshall’s Falcon Theater the L.A. stage production of “Cobb,” which bowed Saturday.

CAA and Vigliano Associates repped the book.
