NEW YORK — The early submission deadline for the Slamdance Film Festival is Aug. 30 and the final deadline is Oct. 11. The annual event runs Jan. 18-25 in Park City, Utah, concurrently with Sundance.
Slamdance accepts film, video and digital work of all lengths, genres and formats. Event was recently accepted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences as a qualifying fest for short pics.
The Slamdance organization, which operates year-round, hosts on-the-road screenings in New York and Los Angeles and an annual screenplay competition.
Fest will also host the Slamdance Filmmakers Bootcamp, taking place in Los Angeles Oct. 11-13. Event will include 12 seminars dealing with subjects such as storytelling, digital intermedia to film output and the marketing of an independent film.
Started in 1995 by a group of writer-director-producers, Slamdance continues to be organized and programmed by active filmmakers.
