Scribe finds ‘Salvation’

'Better' helmer/scribe writing troubled teen pic

Screenwriter Scott Wiper has come onboard to pen “Salvation” for producer Joel Silver and Warner Bros. Pictures with Walter Hill set to direct.

Pic chronicles the journey of a band of troubled teens who, after the murder of a counselor at a wilderness boot camp, break out and journey across Texas in search of cash and their own redemption.

Hildy Gottlieb and Hill will produce alongside Silver’s WB-based production shingle.

Wiper, who is repped by Paradigm and attorney Karl Austen, recently wrote, directed and starred in HBO’s thriller “A Better Way to Die.” He also appeared in “Pearl Harbor” and the indie features “Landspeed” and “Dark Descent.”
