Jason Isaacs (“Black Hawk Down”) has joined the cast of Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” as the malevolent Lucius Malfoy.
In addition, Miriam Margolyes (“Cats & Dogs”) has been cast as green-fingered Professor Sprout and Mark Williams (“Shakespeare in Love”) will play Ron’s father, Mr. Weasley. Other additions include Shirley Henderson (“Bridget Jones’s Diary”) as Moaning Myrtle, Gemma Jones (“Bridget Jones’s Diary”) as Madam Pomfrey and Sally Mortemore, who makes her feature film debut as librarian Madam Pince.
As previously announced, Kenneth Branagh will play Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor Gilderoy Lockhart, an egotistical new arrival at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
“Sorcerer’s Stone” director Chris Columbus and producer David Heyman will reprise their filmmaking roles on “Chamber of Secrets,” along with executive producers Mark Radcliffe and Michael Barnathan. David Barron (“Possession”) joins the team as exec producer.
