NEW YORK — RKO Pictures has closed a deal with producer Anne Harrison to remake 1948 thriller “The Velvet Touch,” with Raymond De Felitta to direct from his adaptation.
Original pic, which starred Rosalind Russell and Sydney Greenstreet, told the story of a Broadway diva who thinks she has murdered her tyrannical producer and must outmaneuver cops, press and suspicious colleagues to preserve her charmed career.
Harrison produced De Felitta’s “Two Family House,” which nabbed the Sundance audience award. RKO topper Ted Hartley will exec produce.
Deal was negotiated by Adam Rosen, RKO senior VP of business affairs and general counsel. Attorney George Sheanshang repped Harrison.
