NEW YORK — Good Machine Intl., along with brothers Pedro and Augustin Almodovar’s El Deseo shingle, is finalizing a deal to finance through foreign sales “My Life Without Me,” a roughly $3 million pic to be directed by Isabel Coixet (“Things I Never Told You”).
Madrid-based El Deseo shingle also will exec produce. Ogden Gabanski and Esther Garcia will produce.
Sarah Polley and Mark Ruffalo are negotiating to star. Amanda Plummer, Alfred Molina, Deborah Harry and Maria De Medeiros will co-star.
Pic, which begins lensing in Vancouver later this month, centers on a young mother (Polley) who is living in a trailer park with her two girls and has been diagnosed with cancer. Though her dreams are dashed, she decides to live life to the fullest along with her husband (Ruffalo) without telling anyone that she is dying.
Coixet adapted Nanci Kincaid’s short story “Pretending the Bed Is a Raft” into the feature script.
