Sales exec vet to head up acquisitions
ROME — Filmauro, one of Italy’s top independent production-distribution outfits, has appointed Veronica Mona head of acquisitions, replacing chief buyer Maria Grazia Vairo, who is ankling to pursue other opportunities.
Mona comes from a background as a sales executive in international TV rights and a programmer with two major exhibition chains. She will make her first market appearance for Filmauro at November’s Mifed in Milan.
Headed by Aurelio De Laurentiis, Filmauro has scored hits in recent seasons with “Hannibal,” “The Crimson Rivers,” “The Dinner Game” and “The Closet,” and the company’s own holiday comedy productions, most recently “Merry Christmas.”
