The British Film Institute plans to launch an eight-month festival of Indian and other South Asian films April 25, wrapping Dec. 24.

Screenings in the festival, dubbed Imagine Asia, will take place at 54 venues across the U.K.

A large number of Hindi and regional-language films have been doing well at the U.K. box office. Pics will include India’s foreign language Oscar nom “Lagaan.”
