Pics will unspool for industry pros March 21-22

MIAMI — The Toulouse Rencontres Cinemas D’America Latine and the Donostia-San Sebastian Intl. Film Festival have joined forces to screen Latin American features in post-production, with an eye to attracting European coin to complete the projects and for international sales.

The fests received roughly 100 entries to the first “Cinema in Progress” and picked six for the screenings.

The projects are Santiago Loza’s “Grieta,” Carlos Sorin’s “Historias Minimas,” Ana Katz’s “El Juego de la Silla” and Sergio Belloti’s “Sudeste,” all from Argentina; Aldo Garay’s “La Espera” from Uruguay; and “La Primera Noche” from Colombia’s Luis Alberto Restrepo.

Victor Gaviria’s partially edited “Sumas y Restas” from Colombia also will be included.

Pics will unspool for industry pros March 21-22 as part of Toulouse’s 14th annual Latin film fest. They will later screen during the San Sebastian fest, skedded for Sept. 19-28.
