Fast Carrier Pictures, near completion of principal photography on WWII drama “Silent Night,” has optioned three feature properties.
One is rights to supernatural adventure “Panzer Spirit,” based on the Tom Townsend book about a haunted German tank that causes havoc in contemporary Europe.
Roger Aylward, who wrote the script for “Silent Night,” has been assigned to pen the project, dubbed ” ‘Jaws’ with a tank.” Fast Carrier chief Steven Jay Rubin and VP of development Rory Aylward will produce.
Fast Carrier has also acquired rights to “Round the Bend,” an epic drama from “On the Beach” author Nevil Shute. Story focuses on the relationship between an ex-fighter pilot and his charismatic flight mechanic, who is rapidly becoming an important religious leader in the postwar world.
Writer-producer Gail Morgan Hickman will pen the script and produce with Rubin.
Fast Carrier has also obtained dark thriller “The Trap” from writer Robert Hinz. Story focuses on a young Chicago woman whose whirlwind romantic affair with a wealthy New Yorker turns into her worst nightmare. Rubin will produce with Rory Aylward.
Fast Carrier, which has a first-look deal with Showtime, is producing “Silent Night” with Muse Entertainment for the Hallmark Channel for a December debut.
