April Blair has sold her action comedy “Operation: Spy Girl” to Universal-based Jersey Films in a deal valued at low- against mid-six figures.
Story is essentially “Working Girl” set at the CIA: A young secretary rises to international field operative despite being vastly unqualified for the task.
Deal was made using Jersey’s discretionary fund. Jersey’s Pam Abdy is understood to have brought the spec in, though company reps declined to comment on the terms of the deal or the execs involved.
Previously a tyro scribe, Blair, 29, had most recently sold her spec “Major Movie Star” to Warner Bros. for $250,000 against $500,000; she is currently work-ing on an unspecified action adventure spec.
Blair was repped in the deal by management and production concern Benderspink and tenpercentery Endeavor.
