Materials needs to be in AMPAS' hands by Oct. 1

Documentary filmmakers who wish to enter short subject or feature-length pics into the 75th Academy Awards competish must submit entry forms and supporting materials to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences by Oct. 1, AMPAS’ documentary branch executive committee chair Freida Lee Mock reminded Tuesday.

The supporting documentation that must accompany each entry includes a synopsis of the film in English, a 12-month theatrical exhibition plan, film credits, scene stills, 15 VHS cassette tapes of the pic and proof of qualifying exhibition.

Videotapes will be distributed to screening committees comprising Academy member docu filmmakers who will determine the nominees.

The 75th Academy Award nominations will be Feb. 11. Oscarcast will take place March 23 at the Kodak Theater.
