Turner Sports pacts with Virage

Cyberbiz Brief

Turner Sports Interactive has inked a two-year deal with Virage, tapping the Internet video company to provide NASCAR fans with searchable video clips of racing events. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the deal is associated with the agreement Turner Sports recently inked with RealNetworks (Daily Variety, Feb. 18), enabling Netizens to visit NASCAR.com and view and sort clips of racing events, including drivers, pit stops, flags and lead changes. Virage will develop and host NASCAR.com’s video content throughout the racing season. Turner Sports Interactive acquired all of NASCAR’s Internet rights in October 2000 and became the exclusive producer of NASCAR.com in January 2001.
