Vidgame-oriented cable channel G4 has signed a strategic marketing deal with Electronics Boutique Holdings Corp., one of the biggest specialty retailers in the videogame business.
Under the deal, Electronics Boutique will use the new brand being applied to all its 800 U.S. stores, EB Games, in conjunction with offerings on the channel: a weekly top 10 list for various G4 programs and a special advertising interstitial with EB Games’ brand.
G4 will direct gamers to EB’s online site to buy titles.
Electronics Boutique CEO Jeff Griffiths said it was in his company’s interest to see G4 flourish.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it’s one of the biggest ad deals yet for the 4-month-old cable channel, owned by Comcast.
