Tight-knit community picks apart television's finest

Television Without Pity is a fraternal twin to TV Tome; instead of trying to cover everything ever aired, TWP picks its punches by covering certain, currently airing shows; in addition, it rewards its contributors financially in addition to giving them ‘Net fame. The site is attractively designed with nice art for each show. Each episode is gone over in exhaustive detail, more than many movie reviewers give to an entire feature film. Individual show-related discussion forums have the comfortable familiarity of a dorm floor TV room conversation crossed with the fanaticism of a local sports bar on game day — it’s a compelling immersion. The site has gone through expansion and contraction cycles, and follows 34 current shows — though a few of those are on their last episodes before cancellation. Washington Post did a detailed article about the site: www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A41297-2002Nov11.html
