WASHINGTON — Top U.S. Senate counsel Stewart Verdery will join Vivendi U’s Washington lobbying office next week, with a brief for tech issues.
Verdery has served as general counsel to Sen. Don Nickles (R-Okla.) since 1998, advising Nickles and other members of the GOP leadership on a range of technology matters. He helped launch the Senate Republican High Tech Task Force.
Joining Vivendi’s Washington team March 11, Verdery will report to Matthew Gerson, who heads up the conglom’s U.S. public policy arm.
“Stewart’s thorough understanding of how Washington works will enable us to effectively navigate the legal and regulatory challenges ahead,” Gerson said.
Verdery will rep Vivendi U’s interests before Congress and the Federal Communications Commission.
