Exec named VP amid o'seas thrust
HOLLYWOOD — Nathan Kahane has joined Los Angeles-based Senator Intl. as exec VP, motion pictures. Hire comes on the heels of Senator Entertainment’s R230 million ($202 million) syndicated loan agreement to boost its international production and distribution growth.
Kahane will head feature development and acquisition for Senator Intl., the production and distribution operation of Germany’s Senator Entertainment AG. He reports to Senator Intl. prexy Joe Drake and Senator Entertainment chairman Hanno Huth.
Also joining Kahane are Jim Miller and Gregg Molander. The three execs previously worked together at the Warner Bros. Pictures-based the Canton Co., which dissolved after unwinding its overall deal with Senator last year.
“We have worked with Nathan on several films, including ‘Trapped’ (aka “24 Hours”), and he has impressed us with his ability to identify high-potential projects and shepherd them through to completion,” said Drake. “Trapped” will be released in August by Columbia Pictures.
Kahane began his entertainment career in the agent training program at ICM.
