Lions Gate TV calls on Stoll

Exec to o'see distrib'n of projects to U.S. cablers, nets

Rand Stoll has been tapped exec VP of domestic sales at Lions Gate Television.

Move comes on the eve of the company’s highest-profile launch to date, the June 16 unspooling of “The Dead Zone” (based on the Stephen King novel) on the USA Network.

Most recently programming exec VP at Pearson Television North America — now FremantleMedia — Stoll will now oversee the distribution of Lions Gate series and feature films to U.S. cable and network outlets.

He’ll report to Ira Bernstein, Lion Gate TV’s prexy of worldwide distribution.

Bernstein said Rand “has a proven and distinguished track record, a strategic big-picture approach to the distribution business and the ability to extract maximum revenue from all of our product.”

While at Pearson, Rand managed cabler programming sales, which included overseeing TNN’s pickup of long-running Pearson syndie “Baywatch.”
