SYDNEY — Australian commercials producer Film Graphics Prods. is branching into feature films, TV and animation via a new banner, Film Graphics Entertainment.
The company has tapped Mark Lazarus as executive producer and head of development of feature films, working alongside Film Graphics exec producers Anna Fawcett and Jude Lengel.
Kidvid consultant Tim Brooke-Hunt and Lengel are co-exec producers of the company’s children’s animation slate.
“We’ve been developing projects in both children’s animation and feature film production for a few years now. The establishment of Film Graphics Entertainment, with Mark and Tim in the key producing roles, will see us bring a number of these projects to fruition in the very near future,” Film Graphics founder David Denneen said.
“With our pool of directing talent and production expertise, moving into feature and television production is a natural progression,” he added.
Lazarus produced the pic “Australian Rules,” which bows in Oz on Aug. 29. He was head of development and acquisitions at Ocean Pictures, where he nurtured Phillip Noyce’s “Rabbit Proof Fence.”
Through his consultancy Pacific Vision, Brooke-Hunt is partnered as exec producer on “Yakkity Yak” with Kapow Pictures and “Bad Hair Rae” with Fudge Puppy Prods.
