Cablevision has tapped former Gotham Deputy Mayor Joseph J. Lhota as exec VP of corporate administration.
Lhota’s responsibilities will include overseeing cabler’s Lightpath business telecommunications division as well as the corporate development, staffing, payroll and facilities departments. He will report to Cablevision prexy-CEO James L. Dolan in this newly created spot.
“While working for the city of New York, Joe established an excellent track record of managing simultaneously and effectively a number of diverse agencies and activities,” said Dolan. “We expect that he will be a great asset not only to Lightpath, but also to the various company departments and functions he will oversee.”
Lhota served as Gotham’s deputy mayor for operations since 1998, overseeing day-to-day operations of city government and its relations with federal, state and local governments. He also managed the city’s technology efforts, enabling Internet access to all city government services. Prior to that, he was budget director and commissioner of finance for the city. Before serving in municipal government, Lhota spent 15 years in investment banking.
