Broadcaster America TV went off the air for an hour Friday after workers took over the studio to protest a cut in salaries, local press reported.
Employers barred workers from the studio and asked them to agree to a 25% reduction in wages. An America TV spokesman claimed a technical problem caused the outage.
The problems come as the fourth-ranked broadcaster, controlled by sports tycoon Carlos Avila, struggles to pay $30 million in debt to independent producers and other suppliers. It filed for bankruptcy protection Oct. 16.
