2001 TV promo confab to add news section

MIAMI — Producers Dick Wolf and Caryn Mandabach will headline the producers’ panel at the 2001 Promax & BDA confab and annual awards show.

The four-day conference, to be held in Miami Beach, Fla., June 20-23, will include 100 sessions, 250 speakers, over 100 exhibitors and two awards ceremonies.

Organizers expect at least 6,000 producers, directors, designers and execs in the TV promo field to attend.

The theme for this year’s confab is It’s All About the Screen, addressing the the proliferation of screens — from Palm Pilots to PCs to phones — in both the work and home environment and the challenges and opportunities for those in the promotion, marketing and design industries.
