Programming vet to serve as director of education
Sarah Frank, a veteran TV programming exec, has joined public station Thirteen/WNET in New York as VP and director of education.
She will oversee all educational activities, including the Kravis Multimedia Education Center and the National Teacher Training Institute, for the nation’s flagship pubcaster.
“With 25 years of management experience in media and education, Sarah will be an invaluable asset to Thirteen as we continue to grow in the digital era and embrace new opportunities to broaden our educational mission,” Thirteen prexy Bill Baker said.
Most recently, Frank was prexy-chief operating officer of Skoodles, where she led the effort to create a safe, age-appropriate Internet for children.
Previously, she served as prexy-CEO of BBC Worldwide Americas, where she moved the company from program distribution into channel development and brand building, dramatically increasing both staff and revenue.
Frank has held numerous other management positions in media, including associate director of the international department for Sesame Workshop.
