UPN has restructured its marketing department, naming television marketing vet Rachel Wells Clark to the newly created post of senior VP of marketing, media and operations, working with UPN’s Bob Bouknight, senior veep of marketing/creative advertising. Wells Clark and Bouknight will report to UPN chief operating officer Adam Ware, who made the announcement.
Wells Clark, who will join the netlet in mid-February, was most recently exec VP of marketing for Spanish-lingo net Telemundo, where her duties included supervising corporate branding, marketing and creative services. On her watch, Telemundo received awards from Promax & BDA and from the Imagen Foundation. From 1993-98, Wells Clark was senior VP marketing for Columbia TriStar Intl. Television.
“Rachel brings to UPN an immeasurable track record in building television channels and network affiliates not only in this country, but worldwide,” Ware said in making the announcement. “Bob, meanwhile, has a keen creative sense, and has been a key contributor to our ratings success, including the campaigns for ‘WWF Smackdown!’ and ‘Gary & Mike’ and the final season of ‘Star Trek: Voyager.’ Together, they will lead the next evolution of UPN to even higher levels.”
