The Weather Channel Latin America has upped affil sales director Willie Hernandez to marketing director, overseeing marketing and public relation.

Separately, the feevee announced that since leading Argentinean cabler Cablevision has extended its airtime to 24 hours.

In addition, the channel has signed a cooperative agreement with the Red Cross in Guatemala, to give early warnings and reduce damage during natural disasters.

Last year, the Weather Channel signed a similar accord with the Red Cross’ Buenos Aires delegation and five Southern Cone Red Cross reps, and it hopes to sign other agreements in the Caribbean and Central America.
