WB Intl. TV inks deal in Greece

Includes rights to 'ER,' 'The Sopranos,' 'The West Wing'

Warner Bros. Intl. Television Distribution has signed a multi-year free television deal with Greece’s privately owned station Star Channel, it was announced Wednesday.

The deal includes rights to feature films and TV series including “ER,” “The Sopranos,” “The West Wing” and “The Fugitive,” animated series including a branded “Warner Hour” of classic and contemporary animation, TV movies, miniseries and documentaries.

Announcing the deal, WBIT prexy Jeffrey R. Schlesinger said, “Our product has thrived on Star Channel for many years, and I am pleased that they will have more of our programming through this deal.”

WBIT licenses more than 39,000 hours of television programming and movies dubbed or subtitled into more than 40 languages to broadcasters in more than 175 countries.
