BERLIN — German production fund Victory Media and Munich kidvidder EM.TV have revamped their partnership and done away with their formerly exclusive agreement.
Companies will continue to do co-productions on a case-by-case basis, however, emphasizing that they will concentrate on tyke-aimed animated series to be marketed under EM.TV’s Junior brand.
Victory, which also has a co-production deal with Italy’s DeAngelis Group, said the Kirch Group’s rescue of EM.TV earlier this year has reassured Victory’s investors and shareholders and helped set the climate for a planned capital increase, according to chairman Franz Landerer.
Children’s series from Victory’s current deal with EM.TV include “Tabaluga,” “Flipper & Lopaka” and “F.T.P.D.”
EM.TV has a Saturday morning Junior programming window on the Kirch-owned SAT 1 as well as its own tyke channel on Kirch’s pay TV service, Premiere World.
