USA has promoted Frank DeRose, a 15-year veteran of the network, to the new post of VP of program scheduling.
DeRose made an instant mark in USA’s scheduling department when he shifted there from on-air promotion earlier this year, said Jane Blaney, senior VP of program acquisitions and scheduling.
Scheduling for a general-entertainment network like USA is complicated by the range of programming it airs, from off-net series like “JAG” and “Nash Bridges” to original series like “The Huntress” to a massive inventory of theatrical and original movies. USA is also ramping up its purchase of reality series like “Eco-Challenge,” produced by Mark Burnett (“Survivor”).
DeRose’s various jobs within USA have included director of program scheduling, his most recent title, and director of on-air promotion.
Before USA, he was a senior writer-producer for WPIX-TV New York and manager of production services for Showtime.
