Univision preps attack spec

Don Francisco to host

SANTIAGO — Latin America’s most popular television show, “Sabado Gigante,” will be replaced this Saturday by “Todos Unidos,” a four-hour special designed to inform the Latino community about Tuesday’s terrorist attack on the U.S.

Host Mario Kreutzberger — known popularly as Don Francisco — pulls 100 million viewers in 42 countries, including 90% of Hispanic homes in the U.S.

“The idea is to help lift up the people from this and to have officials tell us what they are investigating, so that the people can be informed,” said Francisco’s aide Marcelo Amunataegui.

The showbiz vet is expected to round up a top list of talent for the Univision-broadcast production due to the cancellation of the Latin Grammys. The program will be broadcast from a studio and mobile units throughout the U.S.
