COLOGNE — Munich-based TV Loonland plans to beef up its marketing of home entertainment rights and has established a subsidiary in London.
At TVL Home Entertainment, TV Loonland will pool its existing rights from its 4,000-title catalog.
According to TV Loonland CEO Peter Voelkle, the home entertainment activities initially will be confined to the U.K., but will take a foothold in other markets. This might include further acquisitions.
TV Loonland is also transferring its 69.3% in South Korean video and DVD distributor SRE Corp. to the new London unit.
SRE, already the leader in the independent market in Korea, will expand home entertainment activities in Asian markets, Voelkle said.
