Teletubbies to tour U.S.

Live show could go global

LONDON – A live version of “Teletubbies” is skedded to tour the U.S. in spring 2002.

Ragdoll, the U.K. production company behind the kids TV phenom, is teaming up with rights agent The Itsy Bitsy Entertainment Company and promoter SFX to bring the show to the stage.

Ragdoll is also in talks with BBC Worldwide, which holds the rights to “Teletubbies” outside North America, to tour the production in other markets.

In the U.K., the BBC’s commercial division has enjoyed considerable succuss with the live version of kidvid “Tweenies.”
