Stone Stanley chisels veep post for Marcus

Exec manages brand awareness for co.

Matthew Marcus has been upped to VP of marketing and corporate communications for Stone Stanley Entertainment, the production company behind such shows as ABC’s “The Mole,” the WB’s “Popstars” and Comedy Central’s “The Man Show.”

He joined the company just over a year ago as director of marketing and worldwide communications.

Marcus is responsible for managing overall corporate brand awareness for the company and its properties, overseeing all marketing, publicity, merchandising and Internet efforts.

“When Matthew got here a year ago, we had no idea how important his role would be to our growing company,” said Stone Stanley partner Scott Stone. “He has expanded our brands worldwide and has managed to keep himself out of trouble while doing it, and besides, he knew who the mole was and didn’t tell a soul.”

Partner David Stanley added, “His commitment to the company and his relationships in the community have combined to create an awareness for us that has far exceeded our expectations.”

Prior to joining Stone Stanley, Marcus relocated to the West Coast from New York to serve as director of media relations for USA Network. Before that, he was an account exec in the New York office of Rachel McCallister & Associates, handling New Line Television and Classic Sports Network.
