Sony Entertainment Television is pulling “Jeeto Chappar Phaad Ke” (The Sky Is the Limit) on Nov. 16.

Gameshow, based on a modified “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” format, attempted to compete with the highly successful Star Plus show “Kaun Banega Crorepati,” the official “Millionaire” version in India.

The Sony show was unprofitable through its 75 episodes despite the presence of popular Hindi film star Govinda as host. The decision to pull unpopular programs is part of Sony’s larger strategy to cut this year’s losses.

According to sources within Sony, advertising revenues will dip by nearly 10% in the current financial year.
