Schiavone inks deal with Fox News

Research vet to provide demographic monitoring, strategy

NEW YORK — Fox News has inked an exclusive consulting contract with media and marketing research expert Nicholas Schiavone, a 26-year veteran of NBC.

The channel will look to Schiavone for demographic monitoring and marketing strategy for Fox News and its brands.

Commenting on the deal, Fox News chair and CEO Roger Ailes said, “We felt it only proper to employ the services of television’s top research mind to advance Fox News product and brand among our audience and marketing communities.”

Schiavone’s most recent post at NBC was senior VP of research. Prior to that, he held various marketing research, VP and management positions in NBC’s television network and radio wings. His inhouse track record includes creating the network’s “Must See TV” Thursday nights campaign, and promotions and programming strategies for NBC Nightly News and the net’s two highest-rated Olympics broadcasts, Barcelona ’92 and Atlanta ’96.

He is also former chair of the Committee on Nationwide Television Audience Measurement, from which position he developed CONTAM’s ratings laboratory Smart Lab.
