SBS to buy two Dutch indies

Euro TV group wants more in-house production

AMSTERDAM — European TV group SBS Broadcasting has announced it will up its stakes in two Dutch production companies, Cameo Media Support and Track Television, in both cases from 49% to 100% at the beginning of next year.

Cameo Media Support produces news programs such as “Heart of Holland” and “The News.” Track is behind the local version of “Temptation Island.”

A spokesperson for SBS’s Dutch channels — SBS6, Net 5 and V8 — said the move is being made because SBS wants to produce more in-house shows, especially news.

The two indies are together valued at 45 million guilders ($18 million).
