AMSTERDAM — Pan-Euro TV group SBS Broadcasting has inked a mulitimillion dollar multiyear volume deal with Warner Bros. Intl. Television for its Scandinavian channels TvNorge in Norway, Kanal 5 in Sweden and TvDanmark 1 and 2 in Denmark.
The deal for new releases varies from territory to territory but includes such titles as “True Crime,” “Wild Wild West,” “Message in a Bottle,” the later “Lethal Weapon” pics, “Conspiracy Theory,” “U.S. Marshall,” “Perfect Murder” and “The Matrix.” Back catalog includes “Robin and Batman,” and “Absolutely Power,” as well as a number of TV series, including “The Gilmore Girls.”
Warner Bros. has been an important supplier of top fare to other SBS stations in Holland, Poland and Hungary.
Bart Soepnel, acquisitions VP for SBS, said: “We are now assured of access to such strong international releases for our Scandinavian channels.”
