Sagansky scouts series

Exec provides 'Link' for nets

Three years after he left Hollywood to head up Pax, Jeff Sagansky has found a new calling: NBC program scout.

The onetime CBS and Sony exec was instrumental in securing the saucy quizzer “Weakest Link,” fronted by Anne Robinson, for NBC. The show now repeats on Pax as well.

Sagansky, who helped develop “Miami Vice” and “Highway to Heaven” as an NBC programmer, also delivered vet producers Linda Bloodworth-Thomason and Harry Thomason to the Peacock. The couple came armed with the fall sitcom “Emeril.”

Then, of course, there’s the case of “Mysterious Ways,” which was originally developed at NBC but then turned into a series at Pax. The Peacock is airing second season episodes of “Ways” this summer.
