Paramount Domestic TV has appointed vet TV exec Greg Meidel to prexy of programming.
Move was expected (Daily Variety, April 30).
Based out of Los Angeles, the former Universal TV and Twentieth TV head will oversee all programming and development for Par Domestic TV.
He’ll report to Joel Berman, the division’s prexy, who was elevated last week at the same time his former fellow co-prexy, Frank Kelly, stepped down.
Return to Par
Meidel’s appointment reps the exec’s return to Par Domestic TV, where he spent 13 years before moving on to Universal and Twentieth.
Par has not yet announced whether Bobbee Gabelmann, exec VP of current programming, will remain with the Domestic TV team. Insiders have indicated she may be on her way out of the company.
