Bornstein to star, Polone to produce

NBC has picked up a premium script from Maya Forbes (“The Larry Sanders Show”) about two mismatched partners.
Thesp Alex Bornstein (“Mad TV”) is attached to co-write the script, while Gavin Polone and his new Pariah Prods. shingle will also produce. Sitcom is set up at Columbia TriStar Television, where Pariah is set up and both Forbes and Bornstein have deals.
Bornstein will star as a struggling writer who gets a job ghostwriting a column for a supermodel. Bornstein teamed up with Polone earlier this summer to develop a project together.
Forbes exec produced CBS laffer pilot “The Kennedys” and the Fox hourlong comedy pilot “More, Patience” last spring. Fox is still mulling whether to revive “More, Patience” for midseason or next year.
The scribe, who’s repped by ICM and Hofflund-Polone, exec produced sitcom “The Naked Truth.” She also served in a variety of roles, including co-exec producer, on “Larry Sanders.” Bornstein, who’s repped by UTA and Gold-Miller, also voices a character on “Family Guy” and had a recurring role on “Gilmore Girls.”
