MIAMI — MTV Networks Latin America has restructured its ad and affil sales and business operations, promoting three execs to oversee those areas for MTV and Nickelodeon channels.
Former general counsel Sofia Ioannou is now senior VP, business operations. She keeps her responsibilities as counsel, but will also help manage and supervise all business transactions, relationships and strategic projects that cross departmental lines.
Melisa Quinoy has been upped from VP of ad sales at MTV Latin America, to senior VP, ad sales, handling both networks as one unit. Under her direction, MTV’s ad sales increased by 86% last year.
Pierluigi Gazzolo, formerly VP of interactive services for MTV, was named VP of distribution and interactive services for the two networks.
He is responsible for developing strategy for digital and interactive platforms while overseeing pay TV affil sales. He will continue to oversee the strategy and business development of MTVla.com, and that of MundoNick.com.
The execs will report to Antoinette Zel, MTV Latin America’s exec VP and managing director, and to Steve Grieder, senior VP and general manager of Nickelodeon Latin America.
MTV Networks Latin America includes the Spanish-language network MTV Latin America and Nickelodeon Latin America, which is distributed in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
With operational headquarters in Miami, the Viacom Intl. subsid has regional offices in Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Santiago, and for Nickelodeon only, Sao Paolo.
