MTG in ring with Tyson

Iron Mike's match with Nielsen offered in nine territories

AMSTERDAM – Modern Times Group has inked a deal with Showtime that gives it the exclusive TV rights for Mike Tyson’s next heavyweight boxing match.

The bout will take place Sept. 8 in Copenhagen, where Tyson will face Danish boxer Brian Nielsen. It is being offered to ViaSat pay TV and terrestrial viewers in nine territories, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, all three Baltic states, Hungary and Russia.

MTG CEO Hans Holger Albrecht said the live broadcast will be the first that will affect all nine countries in which ViaSat is established.

Nielsen has lost only once in his 62-bout career.

Event will take place at the Danish national arena Parken; Showtime is producing it for TV.
