Bret Marcus has been appointed executive producer of MSNBC’s signature broadcast “The News with Brian Williams.”
Marcus, who was most recently the senior executive producer of CNBC primetime programming, replaces Steve Capus, who was named executive producer of “NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw” last week. Marcus will report to MSNBC general manager Erik Sorenson.
While at CNBC, Marcus created and served as executive producer of “Upfront Tonight,” anchored by Geraldo Rivera and Diane Dimond.
Prior to joining CNBC in 1998, Marcus worked at ABC, where he was executive producer of ABC’s “Good Morning America Sunday” and served as senior producer for ABC World News Saturday/Sunday, as well as for ABC Special Events unit. Previously, Marcus held a variety of positions at NBC.
