Litany of stars paged for library’s Read-In

Celebrities to read one-on-one with second graders

Sean Astin, Rebecca DeMornay, Evan & Jaron, Jennifer Grey, Lisa Loeb, Alfred Molina, Steven Weber, Henry Winkler and cast members from “Boston Public,” “Felicity,” “Providence,” “The West Wing” and “Murder in Small Town X” will be among the celebs participating in the second annual L.A. Read-In Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. in the children’s section of the Los Angeles Public Library.

The event, hosted by Koreh L.A. and the Los Angeles Public Library, is part of a program to promote children’s literacy in Los Angeles. The celebs will read one-on-one with second graders.

According to recent Stanford 9 tests, more than 70% of fourth graders in Los Angeles Unified School District schools do not read at their grade level.

Other participants will include superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District Roy Romer and school board president Caprice Young.
