HOLLYWOOD — Lions Gate Intl. TV has inked a long-term output deal with Germany’s Tele Munchen.
Tele Munchen will distribute all Lions Gate TV programming throughout the German-speaking market in Europe.
Such deals with U.S. indies typically run for three to five years and are worth between $5 million and $10 million a year.
The Teutonic broadcaster and distrib already had purchased Lions Gate’s upcoming syndie actioner “Tracker” and now will have rights to product including drama series “Mysterious Ways,” reality adventure “No Boundaries” and cult food classic “Iron Chef USA.”
Tele Munchen was a major participant in Lions Gate’s $33 million preferred equity financing in December 1999.
“We continue to execute our business plan to turn strategic investors into strategic end users,” said Kevin Beggs, head of Lions Gate’s TV series production.
